Trusting the Transformation

Today we released butterflies—creatures that only days ago were tiny caterpillars living in small plastic cups. As I watched them fly, I realized something: their journey mirrors our spiritual growth.
At first, their world was confined—a little cup with just enough food to survive. But transformation was already happening. Even in the limits of their container, something beautiful and unseen was taking place. When the time was right, they were moved into a larger space—a butterfly net. It was roomier, more open, and filled with light. But even that wasn’t the end.v
Because today… we released them into the wild.
And suddenly, what once felt like freedom—the net—was just a stepping stone to something far greater: the sky.
Isn’t that like life with God?
We often live with a limited view, shaped by what we can see around us. But God is always doing more, transforming us from the inside out. As we grow, He gently moves us from the cup, to the net, and finally, to the wide and glorious freedom of His will, His presence, and—ultimately—His Kingdom.
I wonder if that’s what heaven will be like. Or maybe even the abundant life Jesus promises here and now: life no longer confined by fear, doubt, or control, but released—fully and joyfully—into God’s vast love.
So today, watching butterflies rise, I’m reminded to trust the process of change, embrace the growing spaces God gives me, and always look forward to the freedom that is still to come.
