Find Rest

Christ the True Healer

God has called us to live according to His design, and when we do, it transforms every part of who we are. Embracing the life God intends shapes us into better spouses, parents, family members, friends, and neighbors. In Christ, we discover not only purpose but also healing. Jesus offers the remedy for all our struggles, including the hidden battles of the heart and mind.

Secular psychology and counseling can sometimes provide limited insight, helping us uncover hidden wounds or unhealthy patterns. But their greatest weakness lies in their solutions. While they may successfully expose our struggles, they often depend on human reasoning and temporary methods for healing. Patients are too often cycled through endless theories and therapies—examined, but never restored. What begins as helpful introspection frequently turns into a lifelong cycle of analysis without resolution.

“The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” — 1 Corinthians 3:19

Scripture tells us a better story: Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor.

  • “And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” — Isaiah 9:6
  • Unlike human wisdom, His methods bring lasting transformation. God doesn’t just point out what’s broken—He has the power and the plan to make us whole again. Christianity offers more than diagnosis; it offers the living example of Christ. God may allow us to be broken, but always with the intent of rebuilding us in His image.

Recognizing our inner struggles is necessary, but it’s only half the journey. Many spend years trying to piece their hearts and minds back together, only to find new cracks every time progress seems near. The cycle feels endless. But this is not the abundant life Jesus promised.

  • “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” — John 10:10

  • There is a better way: to acknowledge that we are deeply broken and turn fully to God. He not only reveals our pain, He also knows exactly how to heal it. Healing comes not from our own efforts, but from fixing our eyes on Jesus.

  • “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” — Hebrews 12:2

  • The process begins with surrender. We must place our hearts, minds, and entire lives into His hands—sitting at the feet of Jesus in faith, prayer, and devotion. There, in His presence, we find the restoration we’ve been longing for.
