"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."

The New Promise:
A Soldier Is Born

Part 5

Born Again

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus tore the veil that once separated us from God, paid the full price for humanity’s sin, and opened the way for us to return home to the Father. He came to reveal the heart of God, to call us out of this fallen world, and to model the kingdom life through His sacrifice and victory over death.

Jesus brought us a divine invitation—to experience the love of God, enter His kingdom, and become His bride and true children. God now calls each of us to return to Him. All we must do is repent, turn from our sin, and receive the free gift of salvation.

When we accept this gift, we are born again. Like a branch grafted back into the vine, we receive the Holy Spirit and come alive—restored, renewed, and reconnected to the source of true life.

We no longer follow God out of obligation to laws, rules, or religion, but out of love—a love that compels us to honor His ways, embrace His truth, and live a life of worship.

A Soldier Is Born

When God freed the Israelites from slavery, He didn’t lead them straight to the Promised Land. Instead, He led them through the wilderness—a journey prolonged by their disobedience. In the same way, when someone is born again, God doesn’t immediately take them to Heaven. Instead, He allows them to remain within the walls of this earthly prison.

God’s Purpose—Sanctification

God uses this time to reveal the genuine from the false—to expose those who merely profess belief from those who truly belong to Him. He is testing hearts, sifting souls, and separating the unfaithful from His true children—those who will remain faithful to the end.

For His faithful ones, He leaves us here—not to be idle, but to be refined, strengthened, and transformed. If we choose to follow Him, forsake the world, serve Him with our whole hearts, and even be willing to die for Him, we become honored soldiers in His kingdom.

This world, though a prison, becomes our battlefield. And on this battlefield, God shapes us into the likeness of Christ, so that those still bound by sin can see the evidence of God—and discover that there is hope, that there is freedom, and that there is a way out.

Through sanctification, we become carriers of God’s light wherever we go. We are blessed to grow closer to Christ, to be transformed into His image, and to help others see Him through our lives. This is our mission—until the day He calls us home.
